Memberships for Year End Awards and Qualifying Finals

What you can qualify for, where to register and when to do it.

Every horse competing must be microchipped by a licensed veterinarian prior to competition.  Please then update your USEF registration profile to include this microchip information online.  All information below is subject to changes, PLEASE check the sponsors website, prize list  and membership pages for up to date details.

Mandatory Competition Membership(s)

These are annual memberships that need to be renewed by December 1st for the following year.  Lifetime Memberships are available. These are in addition to the ones below.

1. USEF (Horse Registration and Competing Membership)

2. USHJA (Rider Competing Membership)

3. Adult amateurs must renew their safe sport training annually, prior to attending a licensed USEF competition

National Equitation Regionals/Finals Memberships

These are annual memberships that need to be renewed by August 29th for the following years competition, prior to competing.  All require that the rider, horse, and horse's owner be USEF/USHJA members for points to count. USHJA Pony Medal Final-( Earn 30 points by July 1, Held at Pony Finals in KY)

WIHS Pony Medal Final ( Division Height, 2'3 to 3', must be a WIHS member)

THIS Children's Medal (No membership other then USEF/USHJA) -3'

NCEA Hunt Seat Medal - 3'3 Must be an NCEA member

National Horse Show Equitation Finals-3'3 (NHSA Member)

Devon Horse Show and Country Fair, 3'6 Medals Equitation Only

Capital Challenge Equitation Weekend

Hunterdon Equitation Classic - 3'6 open to any junior that won USEF Medal, Maclay Medal, USET, or WIHS

USEF Hunt Seat Medal (Finals) - 3'6

ASPCA Maclay Medal (Regionals and Finals)- 3'6 (NHSA Member)

3'3 Jumping Seat Medal  (No membership other then USEF/USHJA)

Washington Equitation Final - 3'6 (Must be a WIHS member)

USET Medal, Talent Search Showjumping (No membership other then USEF/USHJA) - 3'6 to 3'9

Horsemanship Quiz Challenge

HJAM Junior Medal Finals (2' to 3'3, per your division) - Must be HJAM member, Qualify January to August) top 15 riders

Ariat Adult Medal Finals -3'

THIS Adult's Medal (NHSA Membership) - 3'

HJAM Adult Medal Finals (2'6 to 3' per your division) - Must be HJAM member, Qualify January to August) top 15 riders

National Jumper Regionals/Finals Memberships

These are annual memberships that need to be renewed for points to accumulate.  Events with an * have certificate(s) of capability requirements that need to be submitted to qualify:

WIHS Child/Adult to Junior Jumpers must be a member to accrue points for Washington International Horse Show (NAL Classics Only)

NAL Child/Adult to Junior Jumpers must be a member to accrue points for Pennsylvania National Horse Show (NAL Classics Only)

Zone Jumper Championships-Must apply to qualify

Devon Horse Show and Country Fair (Apply by as soon as prize list is released early in year, Notification of Acceptance by May 2nd and Show is held end of May. Child/Adult & JR/AO Jumpers

Capital Challenge Horse Show Child/Adult Jumper and Low/Medium North American Junior/AO Jumpers

Pennsylvania National Horse Show Child/Adult Jumper to Low Junior/AO Jumper (NAL)

Washington International Horse Show Child/Adult Jumper to Low Junior/AO Jumper (WIHS)

AON/USHJA National Jumper Championships - Division Heights 1.0m to 1.40m (December 1 to September 13)

Adequan FEI Jumping North American Youth Championship (NAYC): (USEF, USHJA, FEI)

Child Rider Championship (NAChC): athletes FEI ages 12 - 14, fences up to 1.25m   

Junior Rider Championship (NAJC): athletes FEI ages, 14 - 18, fences up to 1.40m  

Young Rider Championship (NAYRC): athletes FEI ages 16 - 21, fences up to 1.50m 

Showjumping Hall of Fame (SJHOF)

U25 (Requires FEI Membership for Horse and Rider, as well as horse passport, 1.40m+,)*

Neule/Shule Junior Jumper Prix Des States (September 1st)*- 1.45m

Emerging Athletes Program (EAP)*

FEI Horse and Rider Membership (Grand Prix, Young Riders and U25) 1.50m

Nations Cup Team & Championship (Child and Junior Riders):(Apply by September 30th)

CSIOY Teams consists of 4 U.S. Athletes between the ages of 16 to 21, who compete at 1.45m. 

CSIOJ Teams consists of 4 U.S. Athletes between the FEI ages of 14 to 18, who compete at 1.40m.

CSIOCh Teams consists of 4 U.S. Athletes between the FEI ages of 12 to 14, who compete at 1.20m

National Hunter Regionals/Finals Memberships

These annual memberships need to be submitted prior to competing to qualify:

Capital Challenge, need to be a WCHR member to compete in the Challenge Classes ( December 1 to November 30)

Pennsylvania National Horse Show NAL Child/Adult Hunters must be a NAL member to compete (September 1 to August 31)

Pony Finals-Division Height, 2'3 to 3'0

Pony Hunter Derby Championships - East Coast Championship held at Kentucky Summer Classic Horse Show

Young Hunter Pony Championships - Final is in Lexington VA. , Virginia Young Horse Festival - Division Height

International Hunter Derby (February 1st) - up to 4'

Children's and Adult Amateur Hunter Regionals (Must apply to qualify) - 3'

National Hunter Derby (December 1st)-Just need USEF/USHJA - 3' to 3'5

Green Hunter Incentive  (December 1st) - Green Division Height, 3' to 3'9

Junior Hunter National Championships - Division Heights, 3'3 to 3'6 ( December 1 to May 31st)

Capital Challenge Horse Show - Hunter divisions (Top 10 Nationally and FCFS Entries) Children's Pony hunter to Junior/AO Hunter 3'6, Green Hunter Divisions and 3'6 and High Performance Hunter

AON/USHJA National Hunter Championships - Division Heights,  2' to 4' (December 1 to September 13)
